With cheap airlinks to Scotland, Sandend Cottage is easily accessible from anywhere in the world. It is about 1 1/2 hour drive from both Inverness and Aberdeen airports. There is car hire readily available at both airports.

By Car:
From Inverness, follow the A96 towards Aberdeen for about 40 miles until you reach Fochabers. At the roundabout take the left fork, signed A98 to Fraserburgh. Continue through Cullen, and passed the sign for Findlater castle, until you see the sign to Sandend on your left. Follow the road down the hill, passed the beach car park, and the cottage is on your left. 

From Aberdeen, follow the A96 towards Inverness. After about 30 miles, and just before Huntly, turn right on the A97, signed Aberchirder and Banff. Past Aberchirder, turn left on the B9025 towards Portsoy. Drive through Portsoy towards Cullen on the A98 until you see the turn off to Sandend on your right. Follow the road down the hill, passed the beach car park, and the cottage is on your left.

Sandend is about 4 hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow 1.25 hours from Aberdeen and 1.5 hours from Inverness.

By Train

The nearest train station is in Keith which is situated on the Aberdeen – Inverness route, both of which have excellent rail links to the rest of the country. Keith is about a half hour's drive from Sandend.

By Sea

There is a direct year round ferry from Zeebrugge Belgium to Rosyth, by Edinburgh.
